Happy Easter, from NEADS!

“Expect to have hope rekindled. Expect your prayers to be answered in wondrous ways. The dry seasons in life do not last. The spring rains will come again.” – Sarah Ban Breathnach

DogInFlowersIt has been a long, hard winter. For many of us, there is still a coating of snow on the ground which covers our spring flowers and prevents us from having our outdoor egg hunt on the lawn. But we are reminded that spring will come. The dry seasons in life do not last. Easter is a reminder to many of us of the cycle of life. It is a symbol of renewal and rebirth—a symbol of hope.  For those who are waiting to be partnered with their assistance dog, the “spring rains” will come when they receive word that “their prayers have been answered in a wondrous way.” Their service dog will represent the end of the dry season and the beginning of a new season of hope and renewal. As we celebrate the arrival of spring and the holiday of Easter, let us not forget that we can be the answer to someone’s prayers when we support or volunteer in order to make someone’s life turn to “spring.” Happy Easter! — Guest blogger, Michele Fournier
